1. Introduction

Cardless ATM withdrawal, a service of withdrawing cash via smartphones without having to deal with debit/ cards and bank teller, has been facilitated jointly by Acquirer Network Switch provider and NCHL for all the issuing banks and financial institutions within the ecosystem of NCHL. This feature is applicable for both ONUS and OFFUS transaction from ATMs within Acquirer network.

With this feature, customer shall be able to initiate a cash withdrawal request from Retail Payment System (RPS) channels/application and/or similar issuing instruments integrated with National Payments Interface (NPI). The basic pre-requisite for cardless ATM withdrawal is that the BFIs’ customers need to have connectIPS app with bank account linked with it or other banks and wallets channels integrated with NPI for this feature.

Cardless ATM withdrawal has been added as an Acquirer Network’s service and made available to the BFIs’customers in connectIPS platform or other extended instruments. While the primary transaction shall be processed and settled through underlying RPS, it shall be the responsibility of Acquirer Network to manage and support for Acquirer, whereas the Issuer network (NCHL) shall be responsible for handling the issues raised by Issuer and their customer (through the issuer).
